A massive shoutout to Jayden Sheridan from Gnarly Neighbours for making the trip all the way from Seymour, Victoria to hang out with our community in Ulladulla on Thursday 30th October!
Jayden packed a huge day — running two free sessions at Ulladulla High School, two skate clinics at the Ulladulla Skate Park, and even stopping by the Dunn Lewis Centre for a podcast chat with Gemma Hart and Oliver Carson. You can check out 1 element of their convo here 🎧 Shoalhaven Youth Local – Episode (featured in the last 7 minutes!).
For those who haven’t met Jayden yet — he’s the legend behind Gnarly Neighbours, a not-for-profit using skateboarding to connect, inspire and empower young people. His sessions are all about finding belonging, building community, making good choices, and being the best version of yourself — on and off the board.
Jayden’s been travelling up and down the east coast, running sessions in coastal towns, handing out heaps of free skateboards and merch, and even jumping on Sunrise to share the Gnarly message. 🌊🤙
A few of us first met Jayden at the Social Impact in the Regions (SIITR) conference in Grafton earlier this year, where he wowed everyone during the Pitch Fest with his story — turning personal struggles into purpose, and showing how community, mentoring and skating can create real change for young people.
Huge thanks again to Jayden for his time, generosity, and all the inspiring conversations with our local youth. 💫 So inspiring to see the array of social enterprises you’ve set up in Seymour to help fund free youth programs and keep the Gnarly Neighbours mission rolling strong! 👏
