As Homelessness Week approaches, Safe Waters Community Care is inviting local residents to step inside, learn more, and connect with the work being done to support people experiencing homelessness across our region.
On Monday 3 August, Safe Waters will open the doors of its Crisis Accommodation Shelter in Ulladulla for a community Open Day, offering an opportunity to see the service in action.
Homelessness Week, held nationally from 3–9 August, shines a spotlight on the experiences of people without safe and secure housing, while recognising the organisations, volunteers and community members working to create pathways to stability and support.
Visitors to the Open Day will be able to tour the Crisis Accommodation Shelter, meet staff and volunteers, and hear firsthand about the services Safe Waters provides to individuals and families experiencing homelessness. The event will also highlight the important role that community support, donations and local partnerships play in helping people access the assistance they need.
Whether you’re already involved with Safe Waters or simply curious to learn more about homelessness in our community, everyone is welcome to attend.
As a thank you to the community, the Lions Club of Ulladulla will be providing a free sausage sizzle for the first 100 visitors.
