Parents and carers across the Southern Shoalhaven are being invited to a free Parent Information Evening designed to make university, TAFE and post-school pathways feel a little less overwhelming — not just for young people, but for parents too.
Hosted by Country Universities Centre Southern Shoalhaven in partnership with the Ulladulla High School Careers Showcase, the evening will take place on Wednesday 3 June from 5pm–8pm at the Country Universities Centre in Ulladulla.
The event is open to parents and carers from Ulladulla High School, Ulladulla Public School and Milton Public School, and will bring together university representatives, TAFE staff, scholarship experts, local university students, careers advisors and Country Universities Centre staff.
Families will have the chance to ask questions and learn more about university admissions, mature-age study, ATAR alternatives, scholarships, financial support, early entry programs and online degrees that can be studied locally through the Ulladulla centre.
CUCSS Centre Manager Erika Schwarze said the evening is about helping families feel informed, supported and inspired when thinking about future pathways.
“We know parents and carers play a huge role in shaping a young person’s confidence and aspirations around education,” she said. “But this event is also about encouraging parents to think about their own goals and opportunities too.”
The evening will include canapés and drinks on arrival, with organisers hoping the event creates space for open conversations about education, careers and future possibilities within local families and the wider community.
