$50 Million Funding Boost for Regional Communities

Great news for community groups across regional NSW! The NSW Government has announced the Active Regional Communities Package, a $50 million fund designed to support events, participation programs, and local projects that strengthen connection, wellbeing, and community life.

There are three streams of funding:

  • Regional Events & Partnerships – grants up to $2 million for major events, supporting cultural, sport, or industry occasions. Applications open 16 March 2026.
  • Community Participation – grants up to $1 million to expand programs, improve facilities, and get more people involved in local activities. Applications open 23 March 2026.
  • Local Priorities – smaller grants up to $100,000 for projects that enhance social connection and wellbeing. Applications open 13 April 2026.

These grants are open to not-for-profits, councils, and community groups delivering meaningful local impact.
