Come Along to the 70th Blessing of the Fleet Festival

Published By

2026 marks the 70th year of the Blessing of the Fleet Festival, one of the South Coast’s longest‑running community celebrations. Rooted in a local tradition that dates back to 1956, the festival brings together residents, visitors and volunteers to honour the region’s maritime heritage and enjoy a full day of activities by the water.

Volunteers and community groups are a big part of what makes this event special. They help with everything from planning and setup to entertainment and competitions, shaping an event that reflects the spirit and pride of place in and around the Ulladulla community.

There’s something for everyone from 8.45 am through to 8 pm on Sunday 5 April 2026, including:

  • The colourful float parade and Easter hat parade
  • Traditional blessing of the fishing fleet on the wharf (a highlight of the day)
  • Spaghetti eating competition and other fun food‑related contests
  • Beach games, tug‑of‑war and family‑friendly activities
  • Market stalls, food vendors and live music
  • An impressive fireworks display to close out the evening

All of this combines to make the Blessing of the Fleet more than just a festival, it’s a gathering that brings the community together, and creates a celebratory atmosphere for every age.
