10 Easy + Meaningful Ways to Celebrate Volunteers During Volunteer Week

Published By

While we reckon celebrating volunteers should be all year round, Volunteer Week is a really nice time to recognise the amazing people who give their time and energy to your group or organisation. You really don’t need a big budget to make someone feel appreciated – small thoughtful gestures go a long way!

Here are 10 ideas to celebrate all the people you volunteer with!

  1. Say thank you—personally and publicly. A genuine message means everything.
  2. Give social media shoutouts – highlight volunteers with a photo and a few kind words.
  3. Write handwritten notes – share what you appreciate!
  4. Host a morning tea or BBQ
  5. Celebrate milestones – mark anniversaries or total hours volunteered.
  6. Share their impact – let them know exactly how they’re making a difference.
  7. Story Sharing – share short stories or quotes from people who’ve been impacted by the volunteer’s work.(You could share these here on our website!)
  8. Give a small thank you gift – it could be a card, a certificate, or even a photo of them helping out.
  9. “Thank You” Jar – Invite team members or community members to write anonymous thank-you notes and drop them in a jar for volunteers to read
  10. Volunteer Awards – Give silly or heartfelt awards like “Best Smile,” “Most Reliable,” or “Always Has Snacks.”

Lets make volunteers in South Sholhaven areas such as Milton, Ulladulla & Mollymook feel as special as they should!
