Finding Your Flock: Milton Follies Brings Honk! JR to the Stage

Published By

One of the things we love about local community groups is the opportunities they create for people to learn, connect and have a go at something new.

This June, Milton Follies is doing exactly that, with 27 local young performers taking to the stage for Honk! JR: The Ugly Duckling Musical.

Presented by Milton Follies, this fun family musical follows Ugly, a duckling who feels a little different from everyone else. Along the way there are plenty of adventures, laughs, colourful characters and songs that are likely to get stuck in your head.

Behind the scenes, the cast have spent months learning lines, rehearsing dance routines and preparing for opening night. Along the way they’ve built new skills, made new friends and become part of a creative community that stretches well beyond the stage.

And while audiences will see the finished performance, there’s a whole community behind it too. Community theatre is powered by volunteers, families, directors, creative people and young performers all working together to make something special happen.

It’s one of the many ways local groups bring people together and create opportunities for people to get involved, contribute and have fun.

If you’re looking for something to do over the next few weekends, why not support local theatre and cheer on a talented group of young performers?
