Ulladulla Men’s Shed was established in 2006 as a friendship and men’s health not-for-profit group. The shed provides men from all backgrounds and ages with the opportunity to develop friendships by working together in an egalitarian environment, learn new skills, learn about health issues relating to men, build a sense of purpose and serve the community. The shed makes and repairs items for other local not-for-profit groups, overseas charities and individual clients, taking care not to compete with local tradespeople. The shed activities include woodwork, metalwork, welding, gardening, beekeeping, lead-lighting, and torch enamelling. We also engage in outdoor activities such as kayaking and bushwalking. Occasionally medical professionals are invited to speak on men’s health issues.
